Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has replied to an eight-year-old young fan, who had written a heartfelt letter to the team after their bitter loss in the semi-final of the 20-20 World Cup against Australia. Mohammad Haroon Suri was extremely proud of the way the Men in Green played in the showpiece event.
Pakistan won five matches in the Super 12 stage before going down to Australia. The Azam-led team only floundered in the last few overs. Apart from that, the team was brilliant in all the departments of the game. Suri appreciated Pakistan’s performances and also mentioned the various emotions she was undergoing.
"Dear Pakistani team. I am very proud, I love you Babar Azam. Well played everyone... nice batting, bowling. Yesterday in the match, I felt proud that Pakistan is going to win. Then in the middle, I was nervous, and in the end, I was frightened. Inshallah, in the future, we will win be captain and I will make sure to invite all of your team to my team. We will go to the finals."
The eight-year-old passionate fan also requested Azam to get the autographs of all team members. "Dear Babar, Please on paper, can you write all your team members' signatures and send them to my house please," she added.
Babar took precious time from his busy schedule and replied to Suri, by addressing her as the future captain. The Pakistan skipper also went a step ahead and requested for an autograph of Suri before obliging to her request of getting autographs of all players.
"Dear Mohammad Haroon Suria, Salam. Thank you for such a kind letter for us, champion. I ABSOLUTELY believe in you, and you can achieve anything with your focus, belief, and hard work. You will get your autographs, but I can't wait to get YOUR autograph future Captain," wrote Babar.
