Lucknow and Delhi locked horns in the third match of the ongoing Indian T20 League 2023. Both teams played this match at the AB Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday from evening 7.30 pm. Delhi skipper David Warner won the toss and decided to bowl first but his decision didn’t go well for his team.

Lucknow posted a total of 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Delhi failed to cross the line and handed over a defeat in their first match of the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League.

The fans also came up with a lot of reactions and responses following Delhi’s defeat in their first game. Apart from that, they also praised Lucknow for starting the campaign with a convincing win by 50 runs.

Speaking of the entire action of the match; star opener Kyle Mayers played a swashbuckling knock of 73 runs off just 38 balls with two boundaries and seven massive sixes to his name. Other than that, it was wicketkeeper-batter Nicholas Pooran who played a quick knock of 36 runs off 21 balls with two boundaries and three sixes.

Later at the end of the first innings, Ayush Badoni’s brief cameo of 18 runs off just balls with a boundary and two sixes helped Lucknow to reach a total of 193 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, it was only the skipper David Warner who could play a knock of 56 runs off 48 balls with seven boundaries. Other than him, the middle-order batter Rilee Rossouw also scored 30 runs but the duo couldn’t help Delhi to cross the line. Eventually, Delhi could score only 143 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the entire 20 overs and lost the match by 50 runs.
