The victory advanced the Titans to their second consecutive appearance in the IPL finals in as many seasons. He played a combination of tactical boundaries and incisive shots in the latter half, reaching his half-century in just 32 balls.
Gill's ferocious performance, which featured 10 superb sixes and seven brilliant boundaries, allowed the Gujarat Titans to a huge total of 233 runs as his scoring pace increased throughout the course of the innings. Mumbai Indians were batting well in their response with some great innings from Cameron Green, Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav but once these batters fell, it was a clear pathway for the Gujarat Titans into the final.
