When it comes to India-Pakistan matches, it has always been a spectacle. The 1996 World Cup game had a great aura and it was an unforgettable experience. The same can be said about the 2011 World Cup game which was watched by Prime Ministers of both countries. But on the other side, it has been a struggle for fans to procure match tickets for the game, the rates for the India-Pakistan clash have gone through the roof. This has left the fans in disarray.
South Premium West Bay ticket for the India vs Pakistan 2023 World Cup contest in Ahmedabad is being sold at Rs 19,51,580 each (shipping and home delivery extra) on Viagogo, a “global online platform for sport tickets”. While the tickets for the the big game had never-ending long waiting queues of over 6 hours and were sold out in the blink of an eye on official ticketing partner Bookmyshow.com, viagogo on the other hand still has over 100 tickets available.
The fans have been facing difficulties when it comes to booking tickets for the India-Pakistan game
While the prices for the India-Pakistan game have hit the roof, according to a report of News 18, they checked the prices for the England- New Zealand game on November 5 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After some sleuthing, they found out that the pricing of tickets on the same stand for that game were comparatively cheaper. The price was only Rs 6,000 for South Premium West Bay and there were cheaper options of Rs 1,000, Rs 1,500, Rs 2,000 and Rs 3,000.
When it comes to Book My Show, the online portal has copped a lot of flak for long wait queues and people have been frustrated over the unavailability and management of the ticketing system. Fans had to undergo a painful trial when it comes to procuring tickets. Some fans had booked hospital beds to watch the India-Pakistan game according to earlier reports. The fans wanted to watch the game and also get the best of medical facilities from the hospital.
The fans were also very miffed about the constant changes in the schedule. There were three to four changes made to the schedule in the last few days which have made the fans very upset. The fans also called out the Indian Cricket Board for having apathy and not understanding the problems or the challenges that the fans are facing.
