It seems like the Bangalore skipper Smriti Mandhana is facing one of the toughest times with her; in the ongoing edition of the Women’s T20 League. One of the most decorated franchises Bangalore has faced four straight defeats so far in the first-ever edition of the tournament. Meanwhile, Mandhana has fallen on the receiving end of online abuse following the poor performance of the team.

The fans took to social media platforms, to release their angst on the poor captaincy of Smriti Mandhana after the horrific outing of the team in the inaugural edition. Notably, Bangalore is the only team in the tournament to lose all the matches they have played so far.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Smriti Mandhana’s girls played their last match in the tournament against UP at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, the 10th of march. The batters couldn’t capitalize the good starts into big knocks.

Speaking of the entire action of the match, Bangalore skipper Mandhana won the flip of the coin and decided to bat first. Batting first, the veteran batter Ellyse Perry was the only batter to play a half-century knock of 52 runs off 39 balls with six boundaries and a six to her name.

Other than her, the senior opener Sophie Devine also contributed with an individual score of 36 runs off 24 balls with five boundaries and a six with the wood. Somehow on the back of these knocks, Bangalore could post a total of 138 runs in 19.3 overs.

The target was comfortably chased down by UP only in 13 overs without losing any wickets; Devika Vaidya and Alyssa Healy played brilliant individual knocks of 36 and 96 runs respectively.

Coming back to Smriti Mandhana, she has also failed to live up to the expectations with the bat as well; she has a poor string of runs in the last four matches except for a 35-run knock against Delhi in the first match of Bangalore in the tournament.
