England cricketer Danielle Wyatt has announced her engagement to Georgie Hodge, the head of women's football at CAA Base and an FA-licensed agent in London. Wyatt took to Instagram to share the news with her fans, posting a photo of herself and Hodge with the caption, "Mine forever."

The couple received many congratulatory messages from their friends and fellow cricketers, including Harleen Deol, Alexandra Hartley, Sarah Taylor, Pooja Vastrakar and Alana King.

Wyatt missed out on Women's T20 League

Wyatt's engagement news comes just after she missed out on getting a team in the inaugural season of the Women's T20 League. Despite having played in 143 T20I matches and amassing a tally of 2369 runs, the 31-year-old was not picked up by any of the six overseas players allowed by each WPL franchise.

Dreaming of playing in the WTL, Wyatt expressed her disappointment on Twitter, saying, "Heartbroken. Congrats to all who got picked up. India is a wonderful place to play cricket."

In a recent press conference on the eve of the Women's T20 World Cup semi-final between England and South Africa, Wyatt spoke about her disappointment at not being picked up in the WTL auction. She said, "I mean, it was a very heart-breaking couple of days. I was very disappointed, obviously, having been a part of the Indian T20 League Exhibition matches and I love playing cricket in India. So, to not even have one bid was pretty heartbreaking. But that's life. And my focus is purely on this World Cup now and, yeah, the sun still comes up the next day, doesn't it?"

Despite the setback, Wyatt seems to be moving forward with positivity, both in her professional and personal life. Her engagement to Hodge is a happy occasion and she seems excited about the future, as she begins a new chapter in her life.
