The ongoing second Test between India and Sri Lanka has once again turned out to be a one-sided affair. India bowled out Sri Lanka early on day two for 109 after they put up 252 on the board. Many players in the second innings looked in a good touch including Rohit Sharma and Hanuma Vihari. However, it was Rishabh Pant who stood out.

Pant came out with a clear intention to take on every chance to hit a boundary. He was successful in doing so as he scored a half-century in 28 balls. He helped the team reach a good state before being dismissed by Praveen Jayawickrama. On top of that, he also became the fastest Indian to reach a Test fifty, taking over Kapil Dev's previous record of 30 balls.

Pant hit seven fours and two sixes to get to this feat. Twitter had some great reactions to Pant scoring the fastest fifty. Wasim Jaffer led Twitter with a wonderful tweet of praise for the batter. "The frequency with which @RishabhPant17 produces such knocks is just incredible. Usually, if a batter is mercurial he's not consistent. But in Pant we've a mercurial batter who's consistent. World beater!" Jaffer wrote in his tweet.
