Young Rajasthan Royals batter Riyan Parag is currently in action with East Zone in the ongoing Deodhar Trophy 2023. East Zone locked horns with North Zone in the 7th match of the tournament and Riyan Parag stunned everyone with his sensational batting performance on Friday. He completed his century in just 84 balls with 4 boundaries and 8 sixes. Parag ended up scoring 131 runs off just 102 balls with 5 boundaries and 11 sixes with the wood when he got out.
Speaking of action in the match between East Zone and North Zone, Sourabh Tiwary-led East Zone has posted a big total of 337 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Apart from Riyan Parag’s century, wicketkeeper-batter Kumar Kushagra also played an outstanding and unbeaten knock of 98 runs off 87 balls with 8 boundaries and 4 sixes.

Mayank Markande and Harshi Rana scalped 4 and 3 wickets respectively for North Zone. Other than these two, senior pacer Sandeep Sharma also picked one wicket but he went very costly and conceded 89 runs in his quota of 10 overs.
East Zone is currently in a very good position in the tournament as they are ranked second in the points table of the Deodhar Trophy 2023. They are now just behind the South Zone who have a very good net run rate.
On the other end, North Zone is struggling for the last spot on the points table in the tournament.
Notably, the century in the aftermath of the failures in the recently-concluded Emerging Asia Cup 2023 drew a lot of different reactions for Riyan Parag on social media.
