Legendary Australian cricketer Ian Chappell believes that the England cricket team has quality-paced bowling and a consistent batting top-order. However, Chappell reckoned that India would start as favorites in the upcoming Test series against England. The Indian cricket team will enter the four-match series riding high on confidence after their stunning Border-Gavaskar series win against Australia. Team India will now be strengthened as their premiere players have returned to the squad. Indian captain Virat Kohli will be seen leading the side against England.

Plenty of injuries forced the Indian team to bring in inexperienced players against Australia. However, the rising stars made the big stage their own and impressed everyone with their outstanding performance down under. But Chappell still believes they fall short compared to England's pace trio of Anderson, Broad, and Archer.

England would also feel they can recreate the 2012 success. The side recently defeated Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series.

Jadeja’s return will thrust India up the pecking order: Ian Chappell

Indian pacers Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah have recovered from their respective injuries and will be available.

The Australian tour saw Rishabh Pant emerge out as one of the best performers with the bat. The young wicket-keeper batsman smashed a superb knock of 97 runs in 18 deliveries in Sydney's second innings. He also played an unbeaten knock of 89 runs in the last Test to help India chase down a massive target of 328.

Ravindra Jadeja is likely to return after the second test match. Both India and England will square off in four Tests, five T20Is, and three ODIs.
