Gautam Gambhir believes England will find it challenging to win a single Test against India. The Indian cricket team are extremely confident going into the four-match Test series after a historic 2-1 win against Australia. Before the commencement of the series, the veteran batsman made a big statement that he doesn't see England winning the test series with the spin attack that the side has. The 39-year-old reckons that the series’ consequence would be either 3-0 or 3-1. Gambhir doesn't believe the visiting team has the kind of spinners who can take advantage of India's conditions.

England will also enter the series on a positive note. They won 2-0 against Sri Lanka on their home turf. Gautam Gambhir mentioned in-form batsman Joe Root and his possible impact on the upcoming series. England skipper Joe Root might be in excellent form, but Gambhir feels that facing Jasprit Bumrah and R Ashwin would be a different ball game altogether.

The third match of the series will be a pink-ball affair

England spin attack comprises Moeen Ali, Jack Leach, and Dom Bess. Moeen Ali did not feature in any of the matches against Sri Lanka whereas Leach and Bess had an impressive outing. The young spinner Dom Bess picked up 12 wickets in two games. Both the spinners claimed a five-wicket-haul each against the hosts.

On the other end, India's batting will be strengthened with the return of their star players. Skipper Virat Kohli who had left Australia after the first Test will again resume the captaincy. And Rahane will take over the vice-captain's hat. Hardik who has failed to fix his spot in the playing XI due to injuries will have an opportunity to showcase his worth. He has played 11 Test matches so far and scored 532 runs at an average of 31.29. The 27-year-old has also smashed four half-centuries and one century in 18 innings.

Talking about India's spin department, the side will be without the services of Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja has been ruled out of the Test series with a fractured thumb. After an impressive inning in Australia, Washington Sundar will be seen along with Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav in the playing XI. The first two Tests will take place in Chennai whereas the third and fourth Test will be played in the Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad. The third Test between India and England will be a pink-ball affair.
