All Test-playing nations across the cricketing fraternity are eyeing closely the upcoming four-match Test series between two cricketing powerhouses India and Australia. Both teams will lock horns in the first of the four-match Test series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur on Friday, the 9th of February.
Speaking from an Indian perspective, it would be a very crucial Test series for the former skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli who has recently been in red-hot form with the bat in white-ball cricket. Kohli’s form will also be a big factor for India to win the series against Australia and making straight away into the final of the World Test Championship.
Meanwhile, former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif has named an Australian bowler as the big possible threat to Virat Kohli in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
While speaking in a video on his YouTube channel, Rashid Latif talked a bit in a warning tone to remind Kohli about the fierce pace and skills of none other than the Australian skipper Pat Cummins. Notably, the Cummins-Kohli duo had six face-offs in the past in which the former has dismissed the 34-year-old five times.
The way he angles the ball in and then manages to take it away will trouble batters like Virat Kohli - Rashid Latif
"Pat Cummins has really troubled Kohli by dismissing him five times in six games. He may not have such domination against any other batter. The way he angles the ball in and then manages to take it away will trouble batters like Kohli and Babar Azam. So this is definitely a battle to watch out for and Cummins will be a threat whether the ball is new or reversing," said Rashid Latif on his YouTube channel.
Talking about the current positions in the World Test Championship 2023 table, the hosts of BGT 2023 India are in the second spot in the points table. They are ought to win the series by a big margin against number one Australia; to seal their berth in the final of the World Test Championship.
