The art of fast bowling has been very important for the game of cricket. A good fast bowling lineup can define what the team stands for. However, it is very difficult to master this art. In the Indian T20 League, there have been many good fast bowlers who have been able to perform well. Here are some of the bowlers that have bowled the quickest deliveries in the history of the Indian T20 League.
Shaun Tait- 157.71 kmph
Shaun Tait was one of the quickest fast bowlers of his time, and he did well with his pace in the ITL as well. Tait played 21 games in the tournament and picked up 23 wickets in the four years. The fastest delivery of the tournament came in 2011 when he played for Rajasthan. Aaron Finch was at the receiving end as he sent a Thunderbolt of 157.71 kmph.
Anrich Nortje- 156.22 kmph
Anrich Nortje was up against Rajasthan's Jos Buttler in his first over of the game in 2020 season when he bowled this thunderbolt. However, he didn't get the desired result as Buttler hit the 156.22 kmph ball for a four. The extra pace may have gone in the batter's favour, but it recorded the second-fastest delivery bowled in the Indian T20 League's history.
Anrich Nortje- 155.21 kmph
The third fastest delivery of the tournament came right after the second-fastest delivery. Anrich Nortje was on a roll with his quick deliveries. After being hit for a four, he clocked the speed of 155.21 kmph. This ball knocked over Jos Buttler's stumps as Nortje got the better of him in the end.

The 2020 season was the defining season for Anrich Nortje in the Indian T20 League. He was consistent with his speed and often clocked 150 plus speeds. The Delhi team found a great performer in him who could also take wickets regularly. Nortje had 22 wickets in that season and helped the team reach its first-ever final in the tournament's history.

He was one of the most consistent performers for the South African team and also the ITL teams that he played for. His fastest ball of 154.4 kmph was the fifth-fastest of all time in the tournament.
