The world’s biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar, is approaching the knockout stages and England faced off against Wales in the Group B match as they crushed the latter out of the tournament.
Concerning England’s win, the first half of the game remained a calm one with both teams failing to open their account and Wales looked completely lost against a dominant and competent Three Lions side who kept creating opportunities.
With the scoreline at 0-0, England’s Marcus Rashford produced the lead for the team in the 50th minute. Eventually, his teammate, Phil Foden, backed him up in the very next minute and scored a stupendous goal to double the lead in no time.
Just when Wales tried to calm things down, Rashford managed to get yet another ball past the goalkeeper as he stormed into the 18-yard box and kicked the ball off into the nets in the 68th minute of the game, eventually letting England win with the scoreline of 0-3.
USA progress to Round of 16 in FIFA World Cup 2022
Simultaneously, USA competed against Iran and eventually managed to take home the much-needed 3 points, given they were in a must-win position to continue their progress in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022.
Christian Pulisic, the star player from America, produced the lead for his team in the 38th minute and remained the sole goal scorer for the team until the end of the match. It was a great first half for the team and the deciding 45 minutes turned out to be a neutral one as Iran failed to match the lead, despite creating a few opportunities.
With England and USA making a cut to the knockouts, both teams would have to face stronger teams from hereon and they would hope to get their concerns sorted before they head into the biggest challenge of the tournament. With not many days left for the summit clash, the Three Lions would be hoping for luck and would also be banking on their strengths.
