The world's biggest sporting event, the FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar is fast approaching the Round of 16 stage and the teams are giving their very best to make the most out of their final group stage matches. With all groups settled, Serbia and Switzerland faced off against each other in the Group G match, on the final day of the group stage.

The first half turned out to be an eventful one for both teams as both of them managed to bag 2 goals to their names, much to the stupefaction of the fans. It was Xherdan Shaqiri who opened the account for the Rossocrociati in the 20th minute and Aleksandar Mitrović matched the lead for Serbia in the 26th minute. The Serbian camp banked on the momentum and scored yet another goal in the 35th minute on the back of a stupendous goal from Dušan Vlahović.

With just minutes away from the first-half whistle, Breel Embolo produced the much-needed equaliser for his team, shifting the momentum back towards Switzerland. At the end of the first half, both teams looked like favourites and there was only one slot left from the group to make a cut to the knockouts. Eventually, Switzerland got off to a great start in the second half as they scored their third goal on the back of a mighty effort from Remo Freuler in the 48th minute and the match ended in Switzerland's favour with a scoreline of 3-2.

Brazil end Cameroon's run in FIFA World Cup 2022

On the other hand, Brazil locked horns with Cameroon in the Group G match and with the former already qualified for the knockouts, it was all about Cameroon who tried to put on a fight and cement a place in the knockouts against the mighty Seleção Canarinho. It was a silent first half for both teams as neither of them managed to open the scoreline and at the stroke of the first-half whistle, the scoreline remained at 0-0.

Vincent Aboubakar opened the account for Cameroon in the extra time past the 90-minute mark and eventually helped his team clinch a 1-0 win against Brazil. However, it was not enough as they were short of points and the Rossocrociati made it through to the Round of 16 stage as they boasted better points.
