The FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar kicked off on November 20 between the hosts and Ecuador in a high-octane clash. As things stand, Morocco and Spain faced off against each other in the Round of 16 clash on December 6, Tuesday.

Eventually, the first half turned out to be a tight one for both teams as neither of them managed to score a goal in the first 45 minutes. To add more, while Spain dominated the game, the Moroccan team’s defence ensured that they refrained from conceding the goal to the Spaniards.

It was the Spaniards who made things tougher for the opponents, given that Morocco had a fabulous line-up for the crucial game. Eventually, at the stroke of the first-half whistle, the scoreline remained at 0-0 and it remained to be seen if either of the teams could make a comeback in the second half.

Concerning the second half, while Spain failed to make an impact, Morocco, on the other hand, failed to capitalize on the opportunities. Eventually, neither of the teams managed to open their account at the 70-minute mark. The Spaniards would look to make it count in the quarter-finals of the tournament and make a statement.

Morocco, on the other hand, would look to create records and inspire the upcoming generation. It would be a record-breaking win for the team and eventually, 15 minutes prior to the 90-minute mark, the Moroccan team upped their game. However, despite coming up with laudable efforts, both teams remained goalless.

Both teams managed to put on a great fight, with neither of them willing to give up. To add more, the intent from both teams was at its best and it was a close encounter, with the match eventually going into extra time. With both teams failing to score a goal in the additional time, the match was forced to a penalty shootout. It was Morocco who came out on top after crushing Spain 3-0 in the penalty shootout, storming into the next stage of the epic tournament.
