Jaydev Unadkat, the Indian fast bowler, has been struggling with his performance in Test cricket since his comeback after a hiatus of 12 years. He made his Test debut for India in December 2010 but missed out on playing for the national team for a record 118 matches before making his comeback.
Meanwhile, Unadkat has scalped only three wickets since his comeback in red-ball cricket. The second Test of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh in December 2022 was Unadkat’s comeback Test for Team India.
Amidst all this, some Indian cricket fans are also disappointed with the bowling miseries of the Saurashtra pacer. They took to Twitter and expressed their disappointment with Unadkat’s poor performances.
Here’s how fans reacted:

Isse achha koi aur youngster ko le lete..
He should never have been picked . Picking wickets in domestic cricket and international cricket there is a huge difference. Bowling at 120 speed won’t help

Notably, the Porbandar-born pacer has played 4 Test matches so far in his international career; in these matches, he has scalped 3 wickets. Apart from this, he has also represented India in the 7 ODIs at the highest level of the game, scalping 8 wickets with the best bowling figure 4/41 in a match.
Unadkat has also appeared in 10 T20I matches for the men in blue and has picked 14 wickets so far. Apart from his poor international records, the Saurashtra skipper has some brilliant numbers to his name in domestic cricket. He has played 103 First-Class matches in Indian domestic cricket. In these appearances, the 31-year-old has bowled brilliantly and has scalped 382 wickets with 22 five-wicket hauls in an innings and 10 five-wicket-hauls in a match.
Apart from being a specialist bowler in red-ball cricket in the domestic circuit, Unadkat has also appeared in 116 List-A matches and 173 Test matches, scalping 168 List-A wickets and 210 T20 wickets. Now, Unadkat might be in action with Team India in ODI cricket as he is a part of the squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies.
