The Indian T20 League (ITL) mega auctions dates are inching closer every day, and teams will be deep in strategizing and finding the perfect combinations for their sides. A total of 1214 players are registered for the mega auctions. 59 of these players are from Australia, the most from a single nation.

Australians have always been an important part of the Indian T20 league. This year too, a lot of Australians are up for grabs that can be match-winners for teams. Here is a list of Australian players that can go big in the ITL 2022 mega auctions:

David Warner

The Aussie opener did not have the best seasons in the past two years with Hyderabad but is still one of the most valuable players in the world. He won the Man of the Series award in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup and performed well in the Ashes too, which indicates where he stands.

His conflict with the Hyderabad management was clearly visible on the field, and he has the chance now to redeem himself in the biggest T20 league. His ability to score at the top and to captain the team can get him big numbers in the auction.

Many teams require a captain, and a bidding war is always on the cards with players like Warner. Bangalore and Kolkata would be interested in him.

Pat Cummins

Cummins already holds the record for the second-highest bid for a player in the history of ITL. This year too, he can create havoc in the auction room. He is one of the top bowlers in the world who can also be handy with the bat. Teams can always rely on him to get the job done.

The pacer did not live up to the expectations in his stint with Kolkata but had some moments of glory. Teams investing in him would expect him to get a lot more wickets this time around.

Mumbai could target him because they always prefer two foreign quicks in their playing XI along with Jasprit Bumrah. Pat Cummins can easily fulfil that role with Trent Boult no longer in the camp.

Matthew Wade

Matthew Wade is a very versatile player. He can bat at the top of the order, he can move down in the middle-order, and he can even score runs as a finisher. Wade can also put on the gloves to keep if the need be. His recent performances in the International arena have been great. His score of 41 against Pakistan in the semi-finals of the 20-20 World Cup was one of the major reasons they won the finals.

Wade, however, has only played 3 games in the ITL scoring a total of just 22 runs. This year can change his stats in the tournament. Every team looks for a player like him who can provide them with some flexibility. Chennai, Hyderabad and Rajasthan can target him in the mega auctions.

Dan Christian

A genuine all-rounder, who can score runs and complete his quota of four overs, while providing wickets. Dan Christian has established himself as a genuine match-winner. He was a part of the Banglore team in the last season but did not get to play too many matches. Teams can use him well in the middle-order this season.

A good fast bowling all-rounder is a rare commodity, and teams need this type of player on their sides. Bangalore can re-buy him in the auctions, or Mumbai can target him as Jimmy Neeshams substitute from last year.

Tanveer Sangha

Tanveer Sangha has been a great find in the Big Bash League. This season, Sangha has picked up 22 wickets in 16 games. He has been very economical as well. Teams like Punjab can target him as Ravi Bishnoi's replacement. Hyderabad can buy him to groom him just like they did with Rashid Khan.
