On 4 November 2022, Australia locked horns with Afghanistan in Adelaide in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup. It was a must-win game for the Aussies to keep their dream of the semifinal alive. Afghanistan showed a great fight but failed by four runs against Australia

Speaking of that incident, it happened during the fourth over of the Australian innings. For Afghanistan, Naveen-ul-Haq was bowling. On the other hand, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh were batting. But, umpired made a shocking call as they announced it was complete over just after five deliveries.

Even, the third umpire or other match officials corrected the error then and there. This meant Australia got only 119 legal deliveries in their innings. Thus, they were denied a legal ball. Speaking of the match, Afghanistan won the toss and asked Australia to bat first. The home side managed a score of 168 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Glenn Maxwell scored 54* runs off 32 balls, including six fours and two sixes.
