The ongoing Indian T20 League 2022 has seen a few big-ticket players failing to live up to the expectations of the fans and their teams. These players have performed so well in the past and thus, the fans were disappointed with their performances. Moreover, their respective sides have been impacted by their poor form as well.
Thus, they were disappointing, to say the least. In this listicle, we will discuss the five players who have been the biggest flops this year.
Five Biggest Flops in the Indian T20 League 2022
1. Virat Kohli
The former Bangalore skipper has had a poor season with the bat. As a matter of fact, it is his second-worst since 2008. In the 2022 edition, he has only managed to get 309 runs in 14 games so far. The right-hander looked like his former self in the last game against Gujarat where he scored 73. Apart from that, he looked out of sorts in all the games.
2. Rohit Sharma
Mumbai skipper has had the worst season of his Indian T20 League career since making his debut in 2008. This year, he has only managed to score 266 runs in 13 games. Although he has scored some blistering 40s, the "Hitman" hasn't been able to convert them into big totals. His batting form has also impacted his team as they are languishing at the bottom of the points table. They have only one game left in the league phase and the skipper would be looking to end the season with a big score.
3. Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal got the opportunity to lead a team in the cash-rich for the first time. This might have taken a toll on the Punjab skipper as he has only managed to get 195 runs in 12 games including a fifty. He has averaged only 17.72 and has had a strike rate of 125. The Karnataka player had to demote himself in the middle-order a few games ago to give chances to Jonny Bairstow.
4. Kane Williamson
The skipper of the Hyderabad team hasn't been able to lead from the front with the bat. In the 13 games he played, he has only scored 216 runs in 13 games averaging 19.63 and striking at 93.50. This has impacted the team's scoring rate in the powerplay. Hence, the team lost a lot of games due to his lack of intent
5. Moeen Ali
There were a lot of expectations from Moeen Ali after he missed Chennai's opening game against Kolkata. However, he hasn't been able to live up to the expectations, and has only been able to accumulate 244 runs in 10 games. This includes a 93 against Rajasthan in the last league game of his side. Apart from that, he has looked out of touch. In fact, he was dropped for a few games as well
