The 20-20 World Cup 2022 is just around the corner. Australia is all set to host the mega-event starting on the 16th of October. While the teams are preparing hard to do well in the tournament, some prominent players will miss out on the chance to represent their nations. In this listicle, we'll look at all of these players.

Sanju Samson- India

The star Indian batter Sanju Samson has recently received attention for his outstanding performances in the blue jersey. Despite his prolific run-scoring, he does not have a guaranteed spot in the squad. The fact that he was left out of India's World Cup squad enraged fans to no end.

The 27-year-old performed admirably in the most recent edition of the Indian T20 League and has maintained his form for India in the few opportunities he has had. His most recent outing was against South Africa, where he scored a brilliant half-century to nearly chase down the target in the first ODI.

Cameron Green- Australia

Cameron Green's worth in cricket has risen dramatically in the last year or so. He has demonstrated his all-round ability in international cricket and has established himself as a constant in the Australian setup across all formats. In the World Cup, however, more experienced players were given the nod instead of him.

Green was recently assigned to open the innings in a three-match T20I series against India, and he performed admirably, scoring 118 runs at a stunning strike rate of 214.55. Despite missing out on a World Cup spot, the 23-year-old is Australia's rising star.

Shoaib Malik- Pakistan

Pakistan's star all-rounder Shoaib Malik was a regular in the Pakistan team until a while ago. Even though he has not played a T20I game for the Men in Green in almost a year, he has expressed his desire to return to cricket on multiple occasions.

With the bat, the 40-year-old can be a game-changer for Pakistan in the lower middle order. In addition, he can also be hand with the ball and grab a few wickets. He could have guided the team all the way through to lift the title in Australia.

Faf du Plessis- South Africa

The veteran cricketer Faf du Plessis has surprisingly been out of the South African white-ball squad since he retired from Test Cricket. However, he has been in incredible form of late. In the T20 circuit, he is a run machine. Du Plessis has amassed a large number of runs in T20 tournaments around the world.

In the recently concluded Caribbean Premier League 2022, he accumulated 332 runs in nine games for St Lucia Kings at a strike rate of 168.53. It is unfortunate that the star player will not be a part of the mega event in Australia.

Ben Duckett- England

England's Ben Duckett shone in the recent seven-match T20I series against Pakistan. He emerged as the team's second-highest run-scorer of the series and always looked in great touch. In seven matches, he scored 233 runs at an average of 46.6 and a massive strike rate of 159.6.

The three lions, however, chose experienced players over the exceptional talent of Duckett. The 27-year-old may not have made England's World Cup squad, but he is a promising young player for them.
