India will play a three match T20 series against Sri Lanka after completely dominating West Indies in a complete white-ball series. The squads for both teams have been announced, and both Sri Lanka and India have picked a relatively strong squad. However, Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant will not be part of the India squad as they have been given a bio-bubble break. Here are five players to watch out from India
Suryakumar Yadav
Suryakumar Yadav had a great series against West Indies. He was awarded the player of the series for his consistent performances. In the last T20 match, he scored a 91 run stand with Venkatesh Iyer. This helped India reach a big total after they fell a bit short in the first half of the first innings. He has established himself as an unorthodox player who can play 360 degrees. He can also modify his style depending on the match situation.
Ruturaj Gaikwad
Ruturaj Gaikwad has not had many chances to appear in the International games, but he got a chance in the third T20 against West Indies. While he couldn't score big in the match, he has one of the most consistent performer in domestic cricket and ITL. He was the orange cap winner, playing for Chennai in the last season of ITL, and scored the most runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy while playing for Maharashtra.
Shreyas Iyer
Shreyas Iyer is another player who has a great talent but has been benched due to a surplus of players. He got a chance in the third T20 against West Indies but got out early after getting a good start. He has been appointed as the captain of Kolkata in the Indian T20 League and was paid a massive price of 12.5 crores. Iyer can solve India's middle order issues that has seen the team struggle to get momentum in middle overs.
Ravindra Jadeja
Ravindra Jadeja has been out of the team since New Zealand visited India last year. He was recovering from an injury at the National Cricket Academy for a while. He has now completely recovered and has already begun his quarantine in Lucknow. His return to the squad gives the team the balance they have missed for a while now. With Hardik Pandya also being unavailable, Jadeja will have an even bigger role to play in this series. He will have to make contributions with the bat and the ball as well.
Sanju Samson
Sanju Samson's ITL franchise Rajasthan has shown a lot of trust in the young player. But, that trust has not translated into the international team. In Rishabh Pant's absence, Sanju Samson has been called back to the squad. Sanson will know that this might be the final opportunity for him to cement his place in the Indian team thus will be keen to make an impact in the series.
