Cricket, in today's modern era, is considered as the batter's game. But, in the hindsight, it is bowlers who put in the hardest work. Fast bowlers, in particular, are always very important to a team, as they have to do the most work behind the scenes.

In the Indian T20 League too, pacers have been crucial to winning matches and also championships. There are a few who have made it to the retention list, but there are still many who are available to buy in the mega auction.

Here is a list of pacers that can start a bidding war in the mega auction.

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada has been a match-winner for South Africa for a while now and has been very impressive in the ITL too. He won the purple cap playing for Delhi in 2020 and had a slight off-season in 2021. He was not retained by Delhi ahead of the 2022 season, which came as a shock to many.

Rabada is a bowler that takes wickets at regular intervals and bowls at a good pace. His partnership with Anrich Nortje in the Delhi camp was very impressive.

Trent Boult

Trent Boult has been around for a few years but played at the top of his games after joining Mumbai. Along with Jasptit Bumrah, he was very crucial in powerplays. He has picked up the most wickets in the powerplay in the last two seasons.

Teams will bid on him keeping his abilities with the new ball as wickets upfront set the game nicely for the team.

Pat Cummins

Cummins has been among the top bowlers in the world for a long time. His value is understood by the teams as we have seen in some of the previous auctions. He bowls the tightest imaginable lines and lengths that build the pressure on batters.

He is an exciting prospect for captaincy as well, and the teams might target him for that. His records in the tournament have not been the best, but his international records cannot be overlooked.

Deepak Chahar

Deepak Chahar is one of the best bowlers in the powerplay, and he is the most effective in that role. He produces genuine swing at almost any wicket. Playing for Chennai and Pune in the past, he has been amazing in the tournament. MS Dhoni was his captain in Chennai and he understood his true potential. Chennai might go for Chahar again but other teams will also be interested in him.

Shardul Thakur

Shardul Thakur has become one of the best bowlers for India after his performances for Chennai in the ITL. He is known to break partnerships of set batsmen. This skill is always very important in a T20 game, and teams will go all out for him.

He has been a match-winner for Chennai and they would like to buy him back in the auction, but that will not be easy. Other teams will also look to buy him which could trigger a bidding war.
