Yuvraj Singh
The two-time World Cup hero is one of the biggest legends of Indian cricket. In the 20-20 World Cup 2007 and 2011 ODI World Cup, he was one of the heroes of the triumphs. However, right after the 2011 glory, the left-hander was diagnosed with cancer. After the successful operation, he played for India till the large part of 2012.
This also proved his downfall although he did make comebacks. His game got affected by the deadly disease. The 40-year-old struggled with the bat in the 20-20 World Cup 2014 final against Sri Lanka. He missed out on the 2015 World Cup and played his last game in 2017. Two years later, he decided to retire from the game.

2. Mohammad Amir
The former left-arm pacer has had an 'exciting' life before turning 30. He rose to the international during his teens and made his name thanks to his sharp swing bowling. However, he got involved in a spot-fixing scandal alongside senior bowler Mohammad Asif and Salman Butt.
In 2011, he was banned for five-years as he was a minor. In early 2016, the Punjab player made his comeback and started doing alright. In 2019, he decided to retire from Test cricket and then retired from international cricket last year citing issues with Waqar Younis and Misbah Ul Haq.

3. David Warner
David Warner started playing for Australia in 2009 in ODIs and T20I formats. He didn't get a Test before 2011 and didn't start well either. The left-hander had resigned to the fate that he is only a white-ball player.
However, the advice from Virender Sehwag helped him and he started doing well in Tests as well. However, during the 2013 Champions Trophy, he punched Joe Root in a bar and was banned for a few games. After this, he didn't get into any major controversy and was a changed man. However, in 2018, his involvement in the sandpaper gate got him banned for one year.

4. Steve Smith
The former skipper, like his teammate Warner, started as the T20 specialist. However, he evolved in the long forms of the game and was indispensable. After the retirement of Michael Clarke in 2015, he was made the captain of the team in ODIs and Tests. Everything was copacetic before the infamous 'Sandpaper Gate'.
Alongside Warner, he came back after one year with a ban on leading a side. Only last year, his ban was removed after Pat Cummins had asked the selectors to make him the vice-captain of the Test team when the former was appointed.

5. Shanthakumaran Sreesanth
The former India pacer was one of the rare India pacers who had a great seam position in his heydays. One of the videos during his playing days troubling Jacques Kallis with a ferocious bouncer is going viral these days. Notably, the right-arm pacer was part of the 2007 and 2011 glories.
However, during the Indian T20 League 2013, he was caught by the police on the allegations of spot-fixing alongside two other players. The other two are still banned while the Kerala player's ban was revoked. In 2021 and this year, he played domestic cricket, only to retire after the first round of the Ranji Trophy this year.
