The Indian T20 League 2022 is almost at its bank end. Gujarat has already made it to the final of the tournament, while Rajasthan and Bangalore will compete in the second qualifier for the other spot. The tournament has seen some spectacular performances throughout the season. However, many important players could not find their rhythm in the season. Here are the players who did not perform up to the expectations in the Indian T20 League 2022.
Virat Kohli- Bangalore
Virat Kohli has been an integral part of the Bangalore team and has given the team many match-winning performances in the past. However, going into the 2022 season, Virat Kohli did not look in the best shape. His poor form continued in the tournament also. He struggled to settle throughout the season, and has scored 334 runs in 15 appearances. His low strike rate of 116.78 was also not impressive.
Rohit Sharma- Mumbai
The skipper of the five-time champions, Rohit Sharma, had a season to forget in 2022. He was unable to get the runs flowing in the season. The rest of his team also did not do well as they lagged at the bottom of the points table. In 14 appearances, Rohit scored 268 runs at a mere average of 19.4. Rohit Sharma failed to make a half-century in the tournament for the first time in its history.
Ravindra Jadeja- Chennai
Ravindra Jadeja was appointed as the team skipper ahead of the season, but the pressure got to him and affected his performance. The all-rounder could not perform in any department for the Men in Yellow. With the bat, he scored 116 runs at an average of 19.3 in 10 innings, and with the ball, he took just five wickets in as many appearances. To everyone's surprise, Jadeja was also sub-par on the field. He also dropped a few easy chances in the season.
Trent Boult- Rajasthan
The New Zealander, Trent Boult, had a fantastic stint with the Mumbai team until last season. However, he has not had the best performances with the Rajasthan team this season. He looked good, to begin with, but faded out as the tournament progressed. In 14 appearances this season, he only took 14 wickets. His economy of 8.33 was also not the best. He will now try to do well in the crucial Qualifier 2 match.
Anrich Nortje- Delhi
Anrich Nortje had a great run with the Delhi team last season, which earned him a spot in the team this season as well. However, the pacer struggled with an injury for most of the season. He only played in six games for Delhi this season, but he did not make the most of his opportunities. He took just nine wickets this season and conceded runs at an economy rate of 9.72. The South African would want to forget this season.
