The Indian T20 League (ITL) mega auction is the hottest topic right now as many of the prominent players are up for grabs this season. As many as 1214 players have registered themselves on the list. Many players from across the globe will go under the hammer, but some did not register in the ITL mega auction.

Here is a list of players that did not register themselves for the auction:

Ben Stokes

The English all-rounder Ben Stokes, who is one of the best playing all-rounders did not register himself in the tournament. He was part of the Rajasthan franchise last season. However, he was not retained by the franchise.

In his 43 games, he has over 900 runs with a strike rate of 135. This includes two centuries and two half-centuries. He also has 28 wickets to his name.

He plays in all three formats of the game for England thus chose not to participate in the ITL this year to manage his workload.

Mitchell Starc

Mitchell Starc has not played in the ITL since 2015, but he teased everyone with his availability this year. In the end, he decided not to participate in the tournament. He said he was just a click away to register himself.

In the two seasons that he played for Bangalore, he featured in 27 games and picked 34 wickets at an average of 20.4. He had a great economy of 7.17.

Starc said he wanted to be away from the bio-bubble to be able to prepare for Australia's next assignment. This would also allow him to spend more time with his wife and family.

Sam Curran

Sam Curran, another English all-rounder who was an important part of the tournament did not register himself for the auction. Just when it looked like Chennai will buy him back in the auction, he took this decision.

Playing for Chennai and Punjab in the past, Curran has 32 wickets in 32 games. He also has over 300 runs in 23 innings. He provides a good balance to the team as he could play in any position. Curran opted out of this season to stay focused on English Cricket.

Jofra Archer

Jofra Archer has been out of the game for over 10 months now, as he is suffering from an elbow injury. He did not participate in the last edition of the ITL for the same reason and was released by Rajasthan this year. In the 35 IPL games that he has played for Rajasthan, he has 46 dismissals to his name at an average of 21.33.

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle, who is the definition of the T20 format, has chosen not to participate in the tournament this year. He has played for Kolkata, Bangalore, and Punjab in the 14 seasons he was a part of the tournament. His best run was for Bangalore where he scored most of his runs.

In the 142 games, he has scored 4965 runs at an average of 39.72. His score of 175 against Pune still remains the highest score in the tournament, and also in T20 cricket overall.

This is the first time Chris Gayle will not play in the ITL.
