The Chennai team has established many loyal fans and players over the years. Most of their players stay attached to them even after they are no longer part of the team. Former Chennai player, Suresh Raina, is one such member. The veteran batter was an integral part of the franchise as he stayed with them since the inception of the tournament. He was with them for all the years that Chennai participated in the tournament.

Fans were heartbroken when he went unsold in the mega auction. He then joined the broadcast team as he made his commentary debut in the ongoing Indian T20 League. He was also seen in the pictures with fans wearing the yellow Chennai jersey. The pictures went viral as everyone felt sad for the southpaw.

And now, reports of Suresh Raina announcing retirement from all formats of the game have come up. Raina, according to Zee News, may decide to retire from all forms of cricket very soon. Suresh Raina, who is now 35 years old, does not have enough cricket left in him as per experts and the veteran cricketer might draw curtains on his cricket career pretty soon. Notably, Raina announced his retirement from international cricket in 2019.

Meanwhile, Chennai has started its ITL 2022 campaign on a poor note. They have played two games so far, losing both of them. This is the first time that Chennai has lost their first two games of the season. They have a few things to figure out going into the rest of the tournament.

Chennai will play their next game on the 3rd of April against Punjab. The match will be played at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Chennai will look to get their first win of the season.
