According to the Press Trust of India, Suresh Raina has been included to the list of players whose names will be put up for auction at the next Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 sale. On June 14, the auction is set to occur in Colombo, and the event will officially start on July 31. The Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) board just released a thorough list of players from both domestic and international teams who would be up for bid in this much awaited five-team event.

Since the Indian Premier League's first season in 2008, Raina, a strong top-order batsman famed for his outstanding stroke play, has been a fixture on the league's roster. Raina has accumulated an astounding 5,500 runs across 205 games throughout the course of his stellar IPL career, creating a lasting impression on the history of the league.

Raina has displayed his remarkable batting abilities on the biggest platform in Indian cricket while playing predominantly for Chennai Super Kings and temporarily playing as well as captaining the Gujarat Lions (GL). He has distinguished himself as Uttar Pradesh's representative in domestic competitions.

The Indian Cricket Board requires that players publicly resign from all domestic cricket before they may play in franchise leagues abroad. Raina will be qualified to participate in the LPL 2023 auction due to this rule. In addition to Raina, renowned players like Unmukt Chand as well as Harmeet Singh, each of whom have travelled to the United States, have opted to leave domestic cricket and explore possibilities in overseas competitions. In the Big Bash League, Chand has already demonstrated his abilities. Yuvraj Singh as well as Robin Uthappa, two of the top players, have played in foreign competitions after leaving all formats of Indian cricket.

On June 14, when the player auctions will take place, Raina has set his opening offer at USD 50,000. The competition will take place between July 30 and August 20. Indian fans would be hoping that any team makes the bid to buy the former Indian team batter.
