Star Pakistani batter, skipper, and one of the modern-day cricketing superstars, Babar Azam has received the third-highest national honor of Pakistan, Sitara-E-Imtiaz. He shared the photographs of receiving the award on his social media handles.

“Immense honor to have received Sitara-e-Imtiaz in the presence of my mother and father. This award is for my parents, fans, and the people of Pakistan,” reads the tweet posted by Babar Azam on his official Twitter handle.

Notably, this award in Pakistan is given to the personalities who deliver extraordinary and outstanding services in their respective filed to increase the country’s pride and prestige at the global level. The Lahore-born batter is playing for the national cricket team of Pakistan for almost 8 years since his international debut back in the year 2015.

Speaking of Babar Azam’s illustrious cricketing career for Pakistan at the highest level of the game, he has appeared in 47 Tests, 95ODIs, and 99 T20Is so far. In these appearances, the 28-year-old has scored 3696 Test runs with an average of 48.63 including nine centuries and 26 half-centuries to his name. Other than this, Babar has aggregated 4813 ODI runs with an amazing average of 59.41 with 17 centuries and 24 half-centuries with the wood.

Apart from two traditional formats, the men in green's skipper has also some brilliant numbers in the shortest format of the game T20I; he has scored 3355 runs in 94 T20I innings with a commendable average of 41.41 including two centuries and 30 remarkable half-centuries on his credit.

Babar Azam was recently in action in Pakistan Super League 2023; he led the Peshawar Zalmi franchise in the tournament. Although his team didn’t have an expected outing in the tournament and failed to make it to the final of the eighth edition of PSL.
