India is all set to host Sri Lanka for the second and final Test in Bangalore. This will be a day-night Test match, the first to be played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The pink-ball Test match has come as a saviour for the longest format of the game.

India has played three matches with the pink ball, and the journey has been full of ups and downs. Two of the matches have been played at home, while they played one in Australia. Here is a recap of all the pink-ball Test matches that India has played so far.

India vs Bangladesh- 2019

India played their first-ever pink-ball Test against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens, which turned out to be a jam-packed event. The BCCI planned special arrangements for Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and Indian cricket legends such as Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid to be a part of the historic match.

Batting second, India had lost their openers very soon. It was then up to the captain, Virat Kohli, to take the team through. Before that, India had bowled out Bangladesh for a mere score of 106, with Ishant Sharma scalping a five-wicket haul. Virat Kohli went on to score a century in the match and take India to a total of 347/9. This was the last time Virat scored a century. India restricted Bangladesh for 195 in the second inning, as they won the match by an innings and 46 runs. Ishant Sharma once again picked up 4 wickets in the second innings.

Australia vs India- 2020

India toured Australia for a four-match Test series. The first match in Adelaide was the Day-Night Test. Batting first, good knocks from Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Ajinkya Rahane helped India to score 244 runs in the first innings.

Bowlers then did well to restrict Australia for a score of 191, which gave India a lead of 53 runs. What followed was a humiliation as India failed miserably in the second innings and were bowled out for a mere 36. Australia didn't make many mistakes while chasing the target of 90.

India vs England- 2021

India hosted England in a day-night Test match at the newly formed Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With Axar Patel claiming six wickets in the first innings on a turning track, England was bowled out for 112. India too struggled with the bat on a difficult surface as they were bowled out for 145. England did not have many spin options in the team, which led to Joe Root taking a five-wicket haul in the match.

Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin led India's bowling attack in the second innings. The English batters had no response for the spin pair and knelt in front of them, scoring only 81 runs. In reply, Indian openers chased down the target of 49 runs without breaking a sweat.
