Team India are in a precarious state when it comes to World Test Championship final in England. They are not in a good position at 151-5 with the top order and Ravindra Jadeja dismissed. The horror batting show unfolded after India conceded 469 runs to Australia at the Oval on a pitch which was bouncy but flat. A lopsided bowling performance against the Kangaroos only added more pain after they were dominating by keeping Australia down to 76-3 at one stage on Day 1. Steve Smith and Travis Head put India in a dominating position with a 285-run partnership.
After the day's play had ended, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill were seen laughing and having a chat. Along with that, Kohli had brought some food for himself and was seen indulging in it. Ishan Kishan was also part of the conversation and was seen speaking to Kohli. When the fans saw this clip surface on social media, the fans were aghast and said that they were pained to see them laughing away and pretending as it nothing had happened.
Shubman Gill was lazy with his footwork, he will learn - Ravi Shastri
A fan after noticing the pictures made a post on twitter saying, "this is Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill chilling and laughing after throwing their wickets and leaving India in trouble in Final of a World tournament but somehow their fans will blame IPL for their bad performances where they clearly don't seem to care much about Indian cricket team."
Gill was under intense scrutiny as he got out for a low score. Many fans felt he threw away his wicket to Scott Boland after scoring just 13 off 15 balls with two fours. Gavaskar said that Gill had misjudged the line and length of the ball which saw him get clean bowled and throw his wicket away.
“I think it’s a couple of misjudgments from probably like Shubman Gill, who has been in great form. Losing him was a big blow. “See, Shubman Gill being a little lazy with his footwork. He will learn; he is still young. Sunil Gavaskar and Ravi Shastri said after making their brutal assessment on Gill.
Let us take a look at the reactions on Twitter:
Kohli literally scored 75 centuries for his country, and you guys are questioning his patriotism 💀💀

Except Kohli everyone threw their wicket. So, Keep Kohli out from rest of the players. They haven't performed like Kohli in any international match

. They don't give a Damm at all. They don't even looked dejected. They all looked so tired on the field. Its Test WC final. @CricketAus is well prepared and treated our bowlers like club bowlers. Pathetic performances.

Where are we heading as a nation?!
I don’t agree. Virat has been the biggest and most vocal supporter of Test cricket. He strongly believes Test is the most important format of cricket and that it should never be taken lightly. Eating and having a few laughs doesn’t reflect their real seriousness for the game.

There will come a time when there will only be franchise cricket all round the year and national competition will limit to only ICC tournaments. Much like football.
