Every Olympic Game comes with a catchy slogan that summarises the approach and intensity of the whole tournament. With the 2024 Olympics being held in Paris, the organisers have come up with a slogan that would be used for the upcoming Olympic games.

‘Games Wide Open’ has been chosen as the slogan for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The slogan was released in a ceremony alongside a video which promised a ‘faster’, ‘higher’ and ‘stronger’ as well as a “more inclusive, more brotherly, more beautiful” Olympic and Paralympic.

At the slogan reveal, the organisers said that “an invitation to the entire world to come to experience new emotions, together. Our games are a promise of unprecedented experiences and powerful feelings.”

According to a report by NDTV Sports, a total of 13 million tickets will be sold for the two events (Olympics and Paralympics) with tickets costing less than $51. In a press statement, the organisers said that the prices for the events outside of the opening and closing ceremonies would range from 24 euros to a maximum of 950 euros.

The tickets will be sold through a draw for which the fans are invited from December. Tickets for the event will go on sale in February next year. The tickets will be sold in form of packages which would cover three separate events of the Paris Olympics 2024.

Given the Olympics is a very high-profile event, French President Emmanuel Macron discussed growing concerns about security and costs for the global multi-sport event.

Questions raised about the opening ceremony's security

Cour des Comptes, a French audit body has warned that the upcoming event brings a ‘considerable’ security challenge and it was ‘imperative’ to ramp up preparations for the games.

The report by Cour des Comptes suggested scaling down the ambitious opening ceremony slated to take place on the River Seine. The opening ceremony will feature 200 boats and more than 600,000 spectators.

The last Olympics was held in Tokyo, Japan in 2020. Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Games 2022 are scheduled to start on July 28th in Birmingham, England.
