With Baldur’s Gate 3 now available for Xbox, players are having the time of their life with the best role-playing game of 2023. However, Xbox restrictions have reportedly resulted in multiple players facing a ban.
The game allows players to have their own gameplay style, along with the option to choose who to romance. Gamers being themselves are recording everything to share it with their friends and on the Internet. Several players have reportedly been banned for sharing their romance scenes, even if it is by accident or unintentional.
The interesting part is that the clips recorded are automatically uploaded to the console's public server due to their default setting, which many new console players are unaware of, resulting in a potential ban.
As expected, the entire gaming community have come together for calling out the absurd regulations that do not work as intended. Players believe that a shared video with someone should not be subjected to breaking guidelines unless others report it.
While Microsoft defends itself with the excuse of protecting other players, gamers are calling it lazy work as there is no option to mark mature content while recording.
Baldur's Game with Mature rating-
Baldur’s Gate 3 already comes with a Mature rating, and gamers believe all the clips and images should already be marked as potentially mature content or straight-up restricted in the feed of underage players.
Questioning the motive behind age verification, one user said, “This is outrageous and unbelievably dumb! Any content for ages 18 and up should just be specifically labelled. How can they ban you from using a feature they provided in a game they sold you.”
While the bans have been reversed after appeal, players are still frustrated. To turn off automatic uploads of your clips, players can press the Xbox button on the controller, then go to Profile & system > Settings > Preferences > Capture & share > Automatically upload.
