“Working together with the world’s biggest game publishers to elevate and grow their competitive properties has been a huge area of focus for BLAST in recent years. This collaboration is testament to that hard work, and we are delighted to expand our relationship with Epic Games by operating the Rocket League Championship Series in addition to the Fortnite Championship Series,” said Leo Matlock, Chief Business Officer for Blast.
Both companies first teamed up back in 2021 for the FNCS All-Star Showdown and FNCS Grand Royale. Blast then took charge of 2022 and 2023 FNCS.
After years of multiple successful LAN competitions, with 2023 being one of the best, Epic decided that both tournaments will benefit greatly with Blast. Fortnite while being already quite popular will see the best production and hosting.
With a prize pool of $4 million, last year’s FNCS Copenhagen LAN was monumental or some might say “Epic” all thanks to Blast. With 50 Duo team competing in the grand finals, Cooper and Mero secured the first position.
Last year’s tournament also saw a format change which seems to be sitting well and may be introduced again this year. While Epic have already teased the FNCS 2024, proper details are yet to be revealed.
It’s no secret that Blast receives a huge among in viewership due to their production quality. Rocket League will benefit with this collaboration a lot and finally be able to get even more exposure.
