Gautam Gambhir wants Dhoni to bat at No.4 or 5 for CSK

Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir wants MS Dhoni to bat at No. 4 or 5. The wicket-keeper batsman is one of the most regular and dominating players for the Chennai Super Kings over the years. He endured his worst IPL season last year in UAE. Dhoni is one of those players who can make the most of the death overs. However, he failed to get going for the Yellow Army in the UAE. The CSK skipper could only manage to score just 200 runs in 14 matches. 

In CSK's first game in IPL 2021, the veteran once again found it difficult to get going. Dhoni was clean bowled for a second-ball duck by Delhi Capitals seamer Avesh Khan. With too many batting options available for CSK, MS Dhoni came to bat at No. 7 in CSK's first match of the season. Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir shared his views on MS Dhoni's batting position. Gambhir wants him to bat higher for the Chennai Super Kings.

Lungi Ngidi and Jason Behrendorff set to miss the match against Punjab Kings

Delhi Capitals opening duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw dismantled CSK's bowling attack. The opening pair formed a crucial 138-run partnership for the first wicket in just 13.3 overs. Pointing out CSK's bowling woes, Gambhir also reckoned that MS Dhoni is no more the player who would start smashing from the first delivery. Thus, Gambhir believes that CSK Skipper should come to bat at No. 4 or 5. Chennai Super Kings are going to play against KL Rahul-led Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Friday. 

MS Dhoni & Co. are going to be without the services of Lungi Ngidi and Jason Behrendorff in their second match against Punjab Kings. The game is going to take place at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Friday, April 16. The yellow army didn't make a great start to the ongoing season. They lost to Delhi Capitals (DC) by seven wickets. Thus, now the challenge for CSK would be to restrict Punjab's star-studded batting line-up for a low total.
