Glenn McGrath, the former Australian pacer, has criticized Steve Smith and other batsmen for their poor performance against India in the ongoing Test Series. Australia's batting unit has so far failed to perform well in three out of the four innings. The only exception is the second innings of the Adelaide Test, in which they were chasing just 90 runs.

The Aussies struggled to score the 200 runs during the 2nd innings of the 2nd Test, at MCG. In the first innings of the Adelaide Test, the hosts were all out for 191. However, they won the Test after a stunning display from their bowlers. The Indian team was all out for a trivial score of 36, and Australia was chasing 90 runs to take the lead in the four-match Test series.

Their batting performance in the 2nd test at MCG was bad, too. India has won the Test by 8 wickets and tied the series. In the first innings of this Test, Australia scored only 195 runs before India mounted 326. During the second innings too, the Aussie batsmen failed to deliver runs. They were reeling at 99 for 6 at one point before Pat Cummins and Cameron Green shared an unbeaten stand.

Glenn McGrath expresses his concern over the Aussie batting unit

And as Australia is continuously trying to struggle with the bat during the Test series, Glenn McGrath has voiced his concern over the same. The bowling legend has expressed that there were question marks on numerous players even before the series began. He further added his concerns about the failure of Steve Smith, after the top-order batsman has scored 1, 1*, 0, and 8 runs so far.

Glenn McGrath has further added that Steve Smith hasn’t fired yet and that this is troubling news for the Australian team. He said that as the bowlers are doing their job again, so what anyone can say.
