As per recent media reports, veteran batter Shikhar Dhawan is likely to lead Team India in the upcoming Asian Games 2023. Although the Indian Cricket Board is yet to take a final call on the Asian Games 2023. Notably, Shikhar has been sidelined by the selectors from the national squad for a long time.

Speaking of the main side of Team India, they are set for their next assignment next month against West Indies. The Rohit Sharma-led Indian Team will be touring the Caribbean islands for a Test, ODI, and a T20I series.
The selectors had already announced the squad for the two-match Test series and three-match ODI series. The team will be playing under the captaincy of regular skipper Rohit Sharma in the Tests and ODIs against the Windies. Young uncapped players, including the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ruturaj Gaikwad, have also got their maiden Test call in the national squad for the tour.
The main side of India is also preparing for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2o23 in their own backyard. They are still missing the star pacer Jasprit Bumrah and senior batter KL Rahul from the squad due to injuries.
