The national side of Pakistan were in action in international cricket after a gap due to the recently-concluded Pakistan Super League 2023. The team was studded with most of the youngsters and less experienced players except the star all-rounder and stand-in skipper Shadab Khan. Although the men in green hadn’t an expected outing in the first of the three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.
Both teams played the series opener at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium in Sharjah. Pak skipper Shadab won the toss and asked his batters to take the charge first. Things completely backfired for Pakistan as their batting order completely surrendered against the bowling lineup of Afghanistan and could score only 92 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the entire allotted 20 overs.
