Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is set to become the fifth captain for India to lead the team in any final of the major world tournament. Notably, India has made it to the final of the World Test Championship for the second consecutive time after they faced New Zealand in the World Test Championship 2021 final. It was the time when the Indian team locked horns with the Kiwis under the captaincy of former skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli.
