Graeme Smith, Director of Cricket at Cricket South Africa (CSA) and former skipper congratulates the Proteas Women team on their ODI series win over India with one game to spare. South Africa sealed the series on Sunday with a 7-wicket win, taking a 3-1 lead in the 5-match series.

South Africa won the first match by 8 wickets, led by stand-in skippers Sune Luus and Laura Wolvaardt. India responded with a thumping 9-wicket victory in the second match. Although the first two ODIs were one-sided, the next two games were tight affairs, with the visitors winning by 6 runs (DLS) and 7 wickets, respectively.

Graeme Smith stated the win displayed immense growth of the team

The Proteas have now won three consecutive series, having defeated New Zealand away and Pakistan at home. The team now got their first victory in an ODI series in India since 2014. Graeme Smith is inspired by the team's recent performance as they prepare for the Women's World Cup next year.

Graeme Smith congratulated the Proteas women on their series victory in India. He mentioned that India is one of the most difficult countries to visit in the world. According to him, it is a big success for SA players to go there and defeat the hosts with a match to spare.

This winning sequece demonstrates how far the team has come. They are blooming at a time when the women's game is also expanding.

The series' fifth and final match will be played on Wednesday at Lucknow. The ODI series will be followed by a 3-match T20I series at the same venue.
