Prithvi Shaw

The young Delhi Capitals opener Prithvi Shaw is currently going through a very poor run of form in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023. He hasn’t even crossed the individual mark of 20+ runs in the five matches he played so far in the tournament for DC. The right-hander returned to the pavilion on a duck in the match against RCB on Saturday in Bengaluru.

It was his second duck in the last five innings of the IPL 2023 he came to bat on; till now, Shaw has played the knocks of 12, 7, 0, 15, and 0 with the bat. A section of Indian cricket fans also took to Twitter and brutally trolled the young Mumbai batter for his continuous poor outings in the shortest game format.

Here’s how fans reacted:

Talking about the action of the match between RCB and DC, the latter won the toss and asked the hosts to bat first at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Batting first, RCB managed to post 174 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Former skipper and batting superstar Virat Kohli scored another half-century and played a knock of 50 runs off 34 balls with six boundaries and a six to his name.

Other than him, Mahipal Lomror and Glenn Maxwell also played the knocks of 26 and 24 runs respectively. Mitchell Marsh and Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets each for DC alongside one wicket each by Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav.

While chasing the target, the visitors fell short and could score 151 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the entire 20 overs. Eventually, Delhi lost the match by 23 runs and faced their fifth consecutive defeat in the tournament. It was only Manish Pandey who scored 50 runs for Delhi Capitals.
