All-rounder Krunal Pandya's official Twitter account was hacked on January 27, derogatory tweets were sent out from his account. The hackers posted several tweets and even put out his account on sale for Bitcoins. The hackers didn't stop here. They went on to post some tweets using foul language.
There have been incidents where cricketers' official social media handles have been hacked by miscreants. Players like Shane Watson, Mohammed Siraj, etc have been the victim of hacking and duping at the hands of hackers. In 2018, Mohammed Siraj's Instagram and Facebook accounts were hacked by his 14-year-fan, who was later nabbed by the Telangana police.
In 2019, Shane Watson's Instagram handle was hacked and some illicit pictures were added. He took to Twitter to apologize for the incident and also urged Instagram to help him out. Four days before this incident, his Twitter handle was also hacked.
