The veteran Australian opener David Warner is under the scanner for his poor outings in the first of the four-match Test series against India in Nagpur. Warner could score only the individual scores of 1 and 10 runs before falling prey to Mohammed Shami and Ravichandran Ashwin in the first and second innings respectively.
Meanwhile, the Aussie management might think to replace the 36-year-old with the Adelaide wicketkeeper-batter Travis Head. A media report in The Age understands that the 29-year-old might replace Warner at the top of the batting order.
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket fans took it as an opportunity to troll the senior Indian opener and vice-captain KL Rahul; as the latter is getting the chance the playing XI even after consistent failures for the last couple of months. Fans took to Twitter and came up with harsh trolls for the 30-year-old.
Here’s how fans reacted:

Coming back to Warner, he has scored only 224 runs in the last six innings of the four Tests he played for Australia including the three-match Test series against South Africa in. In these matches, the New South Wales veteran has scored runs with an average of 37.33 including a double century in the Melbourne Test against South Africa.
Meanwhile, the Australian head coach Andrew McDonald has also talked about the possibility of Warner’s omission from the playing XI.
“It’s a sample size of one game, in Nagpur. We haven’t discussed using Head as an opener at all. We’ll discuss the performance of the first Test match. We haven’t even got into a selection discussion,” said McDonald in the aftermath of the first Test defeat against Rohit Sharma-led Team India.
“The benefit out of losing the game so quickly is we’ve got a little bit more think time to work through what scenarios are for us and that starts today,” he added later.
Apart from the head coach, former Aussie opener Mark Waugh also echoed the point that Warner should get another chance at least for the Delhi fixture.
“David’s been around long enough, and I know he’s had plenty of opportunities
