Delhi and UP locked horns in the 5th match of the ongoing Women’s T20 League at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Pune. UP skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and asked Delhi to bat first. Batting first Delhi posted a big total of 211 runs for the loss of four wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
While chasing the target, UP failed to chase down the target and could score only runs for the loss in the entire 20 overs. So, Delhi registered their second consecutive victory in the tournament with another first-inning total of 200+ runs.
The fans were also ecstatic following this amazing win of Delhi in the tournament. They took to Twitter to shower the praises on Meg Lanning’s girls for an excellent performance against UP.

but the damage was already done by then
Though Kapp (16) couldn't do much but blazing cameos from Jemimah (34*) Capsey (21) and Jonassen (42) took DC to the mammoth total of 211-4 in 20 overs
If #MegLanning managed to win #WPL2023 we can undeniably say her as from captain of greatest team of all time to very well say the greatest captain #AUS #DelhiCapitals #DCW #DCvsUPW

her hand and the scratchy innings of Deepti absolutely killed the chances of UPW while chasing
Eventually UPW could only muster 169 for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs giving DC 42 runs victory and also 2nd position on the Point Table
Indian batters dont have enough power to clear fence compared to overseas. Mostly are statpedders here. #DCvsUPW #WPL2023

While defending the target, star Delhi bowler Jess Jonassen scalped three wickets by conceding 43 runs in her spell of four overs.
Tahila McGrath’s brilliant knock of 90 runs off 50 balls with 11 fours and four sixes; went in vain as Delhi could score only 169 runs for the loss of five wickets in the entire 20 overs. Eventually, UP won the match by 42 runs.
Jess Jonassen won the ‘player of the award for her excellent match-defining heroics both with the bat and the ball.
