Tennis legend Roger Federer has now turned 41 and thus, wishes have poured in on Twitter. He was born on August 8, 1981, in Basel. The legend is regarded as one of the greatest players in the game. He has 20 Grand Slam men's titles in the singles game. The 41-year-old is only behind Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal with 21 and 22 titles respectively.

Notably, in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, he won Gold and Silver medals respectively. The Basel-born rose to fame after winning his maiden Wimbledon title in 2003. Next year, he was in the form of his life as he won three titles and an ATP final. His dominance continued in 2006 and 2007. During the period 2004 to 2009, he won a record 33 ATP World Tour Awards including ATP No. 1 five times.

Apart from that, he won Arthur Ashe Humanitarian of the Year twice in 2006 and 2013 and the Stefan Edberg Sportsmanship Award 12 times from 2004-2009 and 2011-2016. Notably, he was voted as a fan favourite on the official website of the ATP World Tour for a record 14 consecutive years from 2003 to 2016. After becoming the number one player in 2004, he stayed at the top for a record 304 weeks.

He tied with Jimmy Connors in terms of being the number one player. However, the Swiss player couldn't break the record of remaining in the Top 10 of the ATP. He finished 14 straight seasons in the Top 10 from 2002-2015. Jimmy holds the No. 1 spot with 16 straight seasons in the Top 10. Federer has 103 Career Singles Titles, which is the 2nd most in the Open Era just behind Jimmy (109).

Roger ranked number two on the Reputation Institute’s 2011 study of the World’s most respected, admired, and trusted personalities just behind Nelson Mandela but ahead of Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey, and Bono. Five years ago, he became the oldest number one player. These days, he has been struggling with injuries. However, he will go down as one of the greatest players of all time.
