Indian management has dropped the senior Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara from the Test squad of Team India for the West Indies tour. Team India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, will play two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is against West Indies. Meanwhile, some of the steps taken in the team selection have left Indian cricket fans shocked.
Coming back to Pujara, he was in a brilliant touch before a failure in the World Test Championship 2023 final against Australia. But it seems like the management found only one guy responsible for the humiliating WTC final defeat against Australia.
Subsequently, the Indian cricket fans didn’t take it too easily and immediately took to Twitter to come up with a lot of divided reactions. Some of the fans and the experts of the game also realized that it could be the end of the Test career of Cheteshwar Pujara.
Here’s how fans reacted:
Happy retirement cheteshwar pujara😊😊🗿#Pujara

I do not understand why is he dropped from the team, yes, a bad match happened but it's for all not just for him. We need one reliable person on number 3.#cheteshwarpujara#IndianCricketTeam

Because the tour is to the West Indies you can do away with @cheteshwar1 He played 100 Tests always under scrutiny. A pillar of India's batting not long ago, he will now fade away without a proper farewell. Deserved better...#cheteshwarpujara

Cheteshwar Pujara: Comeback Test, named vice captain for the next series, and now dropped.
Ajinkya Rahane: Comeback Test, named vice captain of the Indian Test team.
KL Rahul, when Pujara replaced Pant as VC: I at least don't know what the criteria is.
Puajara first inning average is 11
