Virat Kohli has enthralled and has wowed fans all over the world with his magical Strokeplay with the bat. The former Indian captain has been among the runs for a long time now and he has got big scores for the national side when it was needed most. On an interaction with Star Sports, Kohli was asked who was his favourite cricketer, pat came the reply saying, Ben Stokes. Stokes has amazed everyone with his outstanding all-round capacities for England.

Stokes recently came out of ODI retirement to play the World Cup in India. The England all-rounder had last played an ODI in 2022 against South Africa at home. In the just concluded Ashes, Stokes made 405 runs in five Test matches at an average of 45. He also hit a ton at Lords and with the ball, he picked up three wickets. Since Stokes was nursing a knee injury he did not bowl to his full potential and used himself very sparingly with the ball.

Virat Kohli and Ben Stokes have not played for the same team in the Indian Premier League so far

From the fan point of view, when Kohli said his favourite cricketer was Ben Stokes it sparked a lot of reactions on social media. On the cricket field, Kohli was heard saying things like 'Come on yaar Ben' (Come on Ben) in a very funny way just to grab Stokes's attention. When it comes to the Indian Premier League (IPL) Stokes once said that he would have liked to be with Kohli at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). But sadly it has not materialized. The last team Stokes played for in the IPL was Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

When it comes to the Indian Team, they are currently playing in the Asia Cup. The Men in Blue could not get a result in their first game against Pakistan as it was called off due to rain. In their second game against Nepal, India conceded 231 runs. Now they have to chase it down, Kohli would be hoping to make a big score if the need arises.
