Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder of the Indian cricket team, has always been vocal about his admiration for former Indian cricket team skipper MS Dhoni. Pandya has paid tribute to the veteran on many occasions and it came as no surprise that he met Dhoni ahead of the first T20I encounter against New Zealand. The team landed in Ranchi on Wednesday for the first T20I against New Zealand and Pandya posted a picture with Dhoni on social media along with the caption 'Sholay 2 coming soon.'

It is a special series for Pandya as he will be leading the national side. In the two pictures posted on Pandya's account, he can be seen posing with Dhoni. He was sitting in the driver's seat of a motorcycle while the former captain was in the sidecar. This picture is a clear indication of the bond and camaraderie that the two players share. Notably, Dhoni has quite a sizeable garage that features some exclusive vehicles in it.

Here's MS Dhoni and Hardik Pandya recreating the iconic pose:

Pandya is next in line for Team India's captaincy as he continues to shoulder the leadership role in increasingly more games. As of now, he will be covering for the absent Rohit Sharma. Rohit recently led the Men in Blue to a 3-0 win against New Zealand at home wherein Shubman Gill came out as the top scorer of the series (360). Sharma also scored his 30th century in the last ODI against New Zealand in Indore.

The Indian cricket team is known for its strong bond and camaraderie among the players, and the friendship between Pandya and Dhoni is a clear indication of this. The fans are excited to see Pandya lead the team and are looking forward to seeing him excel in his role as a captain. With the T20 World Cup coming up in the near future, the Indian cricket team will need a strong leader like Pandya to guide them to victory.
