Virender Sehwag commented that Hardik Pandya could be encouraged to bat top the order for India in the upcoming games. The former Indian skipper believes that Pandya would have learned the art of finishing the games from MS Dhoni.

India's most destructive batsman, Virender Sehwag has highlighted that Pandya is currently the best player in the world at the position he is now batting at. Sehwag made this remark while discussing his match-winning knock in the 2nd T20I against Australia.

After the all-rounder smashed his highest T20I score in India's win against Australia, Sehwag was questioned if the batsman is likely to improve that record soon. He acknowledged that it would not take long for Hardik Pandya to get better as he is likely to get opportunities to bat top the order. While terming Hardik Pandya as a phenomenal player, Virender Sehwag manifested by saying that Pandya has played cricket alongside MS Dhoni.

It is MS Dhoni's influence on Hardik Pandya's game, says Sehwag

He believes MS Dhoni is the most skilled person to acquire the distinctions of finishing a game. The former Indian captain also recollected that Ravindra Jadeja also recently credited his Chennai Super Kings skipper. Jadeja mentioned how Dhoni use to tell him to take the game long and make the best use of the last few overs.

Sehwag indicated that the all-rounder would also have a similar opinion if he is asked the same question. The Nawab of Najafgarh concluded by announcing the 27-year-old as the best finisher in world cricket currently.

Hardik Pandya has been in amazing form in the last few months. He was also one of the leading players for the Mumbai Indians during their title-winning run in IPL 2020.

The all-rounder carried on his excellent form in the ODI series against Australia. The 27-year-old has won India plenty of matches on his own. Pandya has also achieved his career-best scores in both ODI and T20.

Hardik Pandya is currently the leading run-getter for team India in the recently concluded ODI series. Pandya aggregated 210 runs at a remarkable average of 105. In the ongoing T20I series, the all-rounder has scored 58 runs at a strike rate of 156.76.

India will look ahead to whitewash the series 3-0 as they gear up for the final face-off against Australia in the 3rd T20I at Sydney.
