Gujarat have been superb in the ongoing Indian T20 League 2022. After beating Rajasthan by seven wickets in the first qualifier, they have now proceeded to the final. Besides, as this is Hardik Pandya's first season as a franchise captain, he has been appreciated by several experts and pundits.

As a matter of fact, his personal form has been superb as well. The Gujarat skipper has scored 453 runs in 14 games at an average of 45.30. Moreover, he is currently the fifth-highest run-scorer in the 2022 edition. As for the Qualifier 1, he scored 40 runs from 28 balls, and played a crucial role in ensuring that the Gujarat-based franchise win the game.

However, prior to the start of the tournament, several people were sceptical about Pandya leading Gujarat, and weren't sure if he could do a good job. Thus, the all-rounder recently took a sly dig at his critics. He stated that the news sells on his name. The aggressive all-rounder also stated that he can't do anything about the same and thus, only laugh over it.

After the completion of the game on Tuesday, Pandya credited his family for his success. He had heaps of praises for his teammates, and appreciated their character. Further on, he also spoke about respecting the game.

In the end, my family, my son, my wife, and my brother as well have played a big role. They kind of allowed me to get neutral in life. I look forward to go home and spending some time with family, and that's made me a better cricketer as well. Don't have much feeling right now. Trying to be neutral again I'll say. All the 23 players are different characters, bring different things to the table.
