Indian cricket commentator Aakash Chopra is of the opinion that allrounder Hardik Pandya should start bowling regularly. Chopra further reckoned that Pandya will give India many options and depth in the forthcoming ICC T20 World Cup. Notably, Hardik Pandya has not been bowling due to a back injury for which he also underwent surgery in 2020. However, the allrounder spoke about returning to bowling soon.

Hardik Pandya should bowl his full quota of overs in the T20I series: Aakash Chopra

Hardik Pandya is in the squad for the team's limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. It would be thrilling to see if Shikhar Dhawan hands him the bowl. Aakash Chopra also spoke about the same and is hoping to see the Indian allrounder bowl in the series. Aakash Chopra also stated that Hardik Pandya should bowl his full quota of overs in the T20I series against Sri Lanka and decent spells in ODIs as well.

Hardik Pandya had bowled 17 overs in the five T20Is India played against England earlier this year. He was also one of Team India's most economical bowlers. The Indian cricket team will surely hope that the allrounder is at peak fitness for the Sri Lanka tour.

Meanwhile, India's preparations for the forthcoming white-ball matches against Sri Lanka are in full swing. The visitors played an intra-squad T20 match on Monday. The ODI series will start on July 13, with the second and third games to take place on July 16 and 18, respectively. After the ODI series, India and Sri Lanka will face each other in a 3-match T20I series, starting July 21.

Shikhar Dhawan is leading the team as India's Test players, including skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravindra Jadeja, are preparing for the 5-match Test series against England. In place of the regular head coach Ravi Shastri, who is also in England with the Test squad, Rahul Dravid will be traveling with the young team in Sri Lanka.
